This week we found ourselves playing our last home game of the season – firstly big thank you to Clare and Simon for doing teas all season – they have been great and are very much appreciated. Looking at the team we had out, the slightly damp pitch (with the forecast looking better as the… Continue reading Saturday XI Vs Ploughmans – Cricket in Epsom and Ewell
With us sitting top of the league we now had an away game against Croydon of India, one of the only 2 teams to have beaten us this season. With some suspect weather forecast, my usual thinking of bat first was challenged. With a couple of players running a bit late and our strength… Continue reading Saturday XI Vs Croydon of India Home – Cricket in Epsom and Ewell
So this week we faced an away game at home if that makes sense. I won yet another toss and chose to bat. As David and Bhups strode to the crease there was a light rain shower above but in the interest of playing myself and their skipped decided to start anyway! … Continue reading Saturday XI Vs London Welsh Away – Cricket in Epsom and Ewell
So this past Saturday we travelled to Kingstonian looking to continue our winning streak. With me miss reading the website we almost turned up at the wrong ground but luckily their captain contacted me and a disaster (for me) was avoided! We turned up and the pitch looked more like the outfield than a cricket… Continue reading Saturday XI Vs Kingstonian Away – Cricket in Epsom and Ewell
So we set off half away across the world (Dulwich) knowing that only a win would keep promotion dreams alive. After losing another toss (that’s 4 in a row)… Continue reading Saturday XI Vs Commonwealth – Cricket in Epsom and Ewell
I found this report from a match we played against Reigate Priory over at their ground - I believe that Sam Patel may have actually played in this match... although he was playing for the oppo back then! It's 'Golden' for Mr. 500! Taking to the field, after winning another toss, on a pleasant sunny Reigate… Continue reading Old match report – Park Hill Cricket Club v Reigate Priory (2008 season)
Dug out another old match report.... Park Hill still in the 'Hunt' After last week's comprehensive win against Merton, The Hill faced similarly tough opposition in the form of Ottershaw & Hamm Moor CC. With Mark back at the helm, the toss was duly won and Park Hill could take their preferred option of fielding… Continue reading Old match report – PHCC v Ottershaw & Hamm Moor CC (2008 season)
Yet another blast from the past, this time with Park Hill Cricket Club playing London Welsh Cricket Club... After their 10 wicket success the previous week, The Hill were in fine spirits entering this game, away (at home), against newly promoted London Welsh on Saturday May 24th. Mark Goldsmith won the toss, again allotting to… Continue reading old match reports – PHCC v London Welsh (May 24, 2008)
