Captains Welcome for 2022 Season

Alex Mackay – Saturday skipper

20210814_132136(0)Following our league wining season in 2017 (yes, we still talk about it), we have cemented ourselves as a strong side in Division 1 of the Surrey Cricket League. Over the last couple of seasons we have mounted promotion challenges but just falling short – likely due to the fact we all look forward too much to the post-match social!

Our Saturday side is competitive but we all play cricket in the right way – just a bunch of mates enjoying cricket on a Saturday afternoon. We play to win but equally ensure all players get a good game!

We are probably the most diverse club in the league with a mixture of ‘mature/experienced’ players and some younger ones who do most of the fielding. As well as that we have players from a range of backgrounds!

We have regular social events such as nights out, golf days and we always treat ourselves to a lavish end of season awards night.

Although numbers are strong, we are always on the look out for new players whether you are new to the game, looking to change clubs or simply get back into cricket after some time out. As well as our league side, we have regular Sunday friendlies throughout the year at some lovely grounds across Surrey.

DSC06156_2Another Season. Let’s be having you, I love Delia Smith. Her cooking too as you will see from my waist line. 😊 I am the Sunday captain this season, 2022, and would welcome you with open arms. I have been with the club for around 8 years. I tried other clubs but this was for me, even now living over 40 miles from the club I still make the trek because I love the guys and gals that play for the club, some I would call dear friends and family.

Do not put off the opportunity for playing cricket, do it with us at Park Hill. Some of you may not rate or possibly under estimate your ability with bat or ball. I do not care we have players of varying levels in the Sunday team, we also have a Saturday team. If you enjoy cricket then get back into it or give it a go. We have a gentleman that did not play cricket till ten years ago and now he occasionally opens the bowling. Ask yourself, will you regret not playing whilst you can before the bones give way. We have players age ranging from 14 and 60. If your aim is to have fun, a bit of exercise and build some lasting friendships then we are the club for you. We have individuals, men and women, with varying skill levels. All I ask is that you play in the right spirit and have fun and after the game, commitments permitting, stay for a beer to regale the team with your version of your performance.

Our club is located between Ewell and Tolworth, just half a mile off the A3. Those that do not drive there is Tolworth station and the club is 15 minutes walk. If you have a heavy cricket bag I would make sure that there are wheels on them. Most members drive and live varying distances from the club. This commitment to travel is one selling point in that we do have some members coming from as far a field as Reading and Horsham because they love the sense of belonging and camaraderie with Park Hill.

I look forward to welcoming new members and past members.

UP THE HILL!!!!!!!!

So, if you are looking to join a Cricket Club in the Epsom and Ewell area, then please contact us as new members are always welcome.
